About this event

ICF Metro DC Coaching Book Club
The HeART of Laser-Focused Coaching by Marion Franklin

We are excited to announce that our chapter is launching a new Coaching Book Club!  Co-led by members Marlee Carlos and Beth Flanagan, this initiative was created to offer coaches an enriching space to learn from leading experts in coaching, adult learning, and behavioral science through books, articles, and various media. These virtual meet-ups will also provide participants with the chance to learn from one another and build connections through guided discussions. The Coaching Book Club will launch on January 24, and will meet every other month. Each session will last 75 minutes.

To allow for an engaging, interactive discussion, attendance will be limited to 15 participants. A wait list will be kept.

One RD CCEU will be offered to participants.

About the book:
The Heart of Laser-Focused Coaching
by Marion Franklin emphasizes the power of direct, effective coaching techniques to create transformational change. Franklin’s approach centers on getting to the heart of the client’s issues by asking precise, probing questions and avoiding surface-level conversations. The book encourages coaches to move past conventional coaching strategies and instead focus on what truly drives client behaviors and beliefs. Franklin advocates for identifying limiting beliefs, challenging assumptions, and fostering accountability. Through clear examples and actionable insights, the book equips coaches to facilitate profound breakthroughs, aiming to empower clients to make lasting changes in their lives.
