Biography
Melissa is a leadership coach focused on helping individuals accomplish meaningful change in any aspect of their lives - professional or personal. With an educational foundation in the arts, creativity drives her approach to strategic problem-solving or what she prefers to call “solution finding.” Melissa has always found fulfillment in mentoring others. Her high emotional intelligence combined with her innate ability to cultivate trusting relationships help create a safe space for clients to reach beyond their perceived boundaries.
Incorporating her love of the outdoors and her pursuit of mindfulness, Melissa’s approach involves partnering with her clients to help guide them down a path of self exploration that encourages them to identify their own strengths, uncover what motivates them, and discover they already have many of the answers they’re seeking.
Melissa began her professional career in the nonprofit world and has remained committed to values-based work ever since. Initially focused on the visual and performing arts she transitioned to higher education. While at Georgetown University, she completed an International Executive MBA at the McDonough School of Business and participated in consulting projects in Hong Kong and Dubai.
In 2014 she took a leadership position with a global organization, overseeing operations for fourteen international and domestic offices, traveling regularly to Europe and the Middle East. Recently, Melissa began leading the organization’s talent management efforts, focusing on employee engagement, management skill building, developing leadership, team-building retreats, mentoring, and coaching.
With over a decade of management experience, a Masters in Business Administration, and a home base in the metro Washington, DC area, Melissa has the skills and knowledge to support clients working in nonprofits, the private sector, higher education, and government.
