Five Potent (and Often Overlooked) Positive Psychology Tools for Coaches
Presented by Natalya Pestalozzi

Learning & Development Strands: Wellness

Program Description:

Coaches: want a stronger scientific backbone for your coaching conversations?

Join Natalya Pestalozzi for a 90-minute interactive webinar exploring five evidence-based tools from positive psychology that can be integrated directly into coaching sessions to support client awareness, goal attainment, and sustainable wellbeing.

Drawing on over 30 years of research, this session will explore how to:

?? Work intentionally with emotional state to expand client resourcefulness

?? Work with strengths as skills that can be developed intentionally to support well-being and growth.

?? Increase follow-through on goals using implementation intentions

?? Apply flow principles to support optimal performance and reduce anxiety

?? Leverage gratitude as a skill for perspective, motivation, and wellbeing

This session is designed specifically for coaches—not as a set of prescriptive techniques, but as practical, flexible tools that can be used in partnership with clients and aligned with the ICF Core Competencies.

You’ll leave with greater confidence in applying research-informed approaches, a clearer understanding of why these tools work, and strategies you can use immediately to help clients move from feeling stuck to feeling more engaged, capable, and aligned with their goals.

Learning Objectives:

1. Apply evidence-based positive psychology tools in coaching conversations to support client awareness, resilience, and forward progress.

2. Work intentionally with client emotional state and strengths as developmental resources to expand perspective, insight, and choice.

3. Support client-defined goals and sustainable wellbeing using implementation intentions, flow principles, and gratitude practices.

About the Presenter:

Natalya Pestalozzi, PCC is a professional leadership and executive coach working with leaders across private and federal sectors. Natalya brings over 2,000 hours of coaching experience, advanced training in feedback and assessment tools, and a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to one-on-one coaching, Natalya is an experienced facilitator and trainer, known for leading engaging, actionable sessions on leadership and wellbeing. She currently leads a cohort of professional students in a 9-month Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology program (CAPP) through The Flourishing Center. Students learn the science and evidence-based tools to help enhance the wellbeing of their diverse client populations. Across deliveries, Natalya creates space for reflection, growth, and meaningful connection—often helping participants unlock what they didn’t know they needed.

In addition to facilitating CAPP, Natalya previously led the Coaching and Mentoring Practice at Management Concepts in the D.C. Metro Area, was an Assistant Instructor for the Master of Applied Positive Psychology program at the University of Pennsylvania, and supported training and development programs in the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Service Institute.

Since launching her own coaching practice in 2011, she’s supported hundreds of leaders—many navigating professional transitions, moments of self-doubt, or the complex balancing act of work and life. She’s especially attuned to the needs of new or aspiring parents, and often serves as a trusted sounding board in periods of personal reinvention. As a parent herself, Natalya believes deeply in honoring both ambition and wellbeing. Her work is rooted in the belief that people become more effective not by doing more, but by becoming more whole. She helps her clients focus on what matters most—so they can lead with intention, and live with it, too.
