DEIB in Coaching: A Critical Dialogue for These Times
A workshop presented by the ICF Metro DC DEI Committee and Coaching for Social Justice
Program Description:
Have you been wondering how to navigate the shifting landscape of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice and Belonging (DEIJB) thoughtfully and ethically? How can we tackle these issues in today's political climate, especially as some organizations reduce their focus on DEIB? To be of service to our clients and the organizations they work for, please join us on Tuesday, June 24 from 6 – 7:15 p.m., ET, to exchange perspectives and learn from one another.
The ICF Metro DC DEI committee has arranged with Coaching for Social Justice to facilitate this timely and important conversation. CSJ is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., dedicated to equipping coaches to be as effective as possible in working with clients when issues of DEIB and social identity are at hand. Several members of ICF Metro DC’s DEI committee have participated in CSJ’s impactful “Dialogues,” and we aim to ensure that all our members are afforded this opportunity.
During plenary and break-out sessions, you will be able to explore top-of-mind DEIB-relevant coaching questions such as:
· What are the coaching dilemmas and ethical issues coaches are facing and how are they being resolved?
· In this current climate, do we continue doing the work but change the way we talk about DEIB with our clients and their sponsors? (Or do we wait until there is a greater corporate and political appetite to address these issues?)
Facilitators: CSJ Executive Director and chapter member Dan Brown, MCC, will be joined by board members Jonathan Sibley, MCEC, Judy Wolf, PCC, and members of CSJ’s highly experienced coaching supervision team.
Potential Additional CCEU’s: While one RD CCEU will be offered for the June 24 session, those who complete CSJ’s Program, “Social Justice in Coaching: Transforming Yourself & Your Practice Through Group Supervision,” are awarded 10 core competency and 5 resource development credits. If interested, you can learn more about the program here.
