Clear Agreements, Lighter Load: Using Core Competency 3 to Create Focused, Energized Coaching Sessions
Presented by Lauren LeMunyan, MCC

Program Description:

Coaching doesn’t have to feel heavy. In this interactive session, Lauren LeMunyan, MCC, explores how mastering Core Competency 3 — Establishing and Maintaining Agreements — can significantly reduce the energetic burden on coaches while improving clarity, flow, and client ownership. Attendees will learn how to co-create session agreements that set clear expectations, streamline focus, and eliminate ambiguity. Through real-world examples and practical techniques, this session will equip coaches to conserve energy, reduce overfunctioning, and empower clients to drive their own outcomes — all by dialing into one of coaching’s most foundational (and under-leveraged) competencies.

Learning Objectives:

1) Identify the key elements of effective session agreements that align with ICF Core Competency 3 and contribute to increased session clarity and client ownership.

2) Apply strategies to co-create focused coaching session agreements that reduce the coach’s energetic load and prevent scope drift.

3) Evaluate and adjust agreements in real-time to maintain alignment, ensure client accountability, and increase overall session effectiveness.
