Embodying the ICF Core Competencies Anywhere and Everywhere
Presented by Reginald Jackson, PCC
Program Description:
Although each competency is considered core and critical, it’s not unusual for coaches to
relate to them as conceptual guidelines. In fact, it’s not uncommon for some coaches to
have difficulty recalling them from memory. This presentation invites the attendee to
embrace the core competencies in a way that enables them to consider a more meaningful
perspective than what they may currently possess. The presentation features an
illustration or vignette, introducing real world scenarios that will strengthen the
understanding of each competency and allow attendees to easily recognize situations that
resemble the nature and intent of each competency. The end result is a holistic experience
that encourages the attendee to associate the core competencies with a new meaning. This
tested approach has been proven successful in helping coaches truly embody the core
competencies and recall them with ease.
Learning Objectives:
- create a more meaningful relationship with the core competencies,
- be able to recall core competencies with greater clarity
- recognize core competencies in everyday situations, resulting in a more holistic approach to the competencies.
