The Event

Signing up to a code of ethics does not in itself make you an ethical coach. What role does supervision play in your duty of care to clients, and how can self-supervision help you ensure you embody your ethical commitments in your practice?

In this session, Dr. Sam Humphrey will share an approach to effective self-supervision and how the practice can be expanded. We will also unpack some of the questions around supervision to get clear on how you know what to take to supervision and what to do with the outcomes and learnings from supervision.

This event will explore supervision through a lens of commitment to continued professional growth and ethical practice and will count towards ICF Members ethics training hours for credential renewal.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore the purpose of supervision in relation to duty of care
  • Explore self-supervision and share ways to expand this practice
  • Gain clarity on what you do with the outcomes and learnings from supervision
  • Gain clarity on how you know what to take to supervision
  • Understand what effective self-supervision looks like

Meet our speaker

Dr. Sam Humphrey

With over 20 years’ coaching experience, a masters in executive coaching and a doctorate in coaching supervision, Sam’s approach to coaching and supervision is a potent combination of practice and theory.

Formerly Global Head of Coaching at Unilever, Sam has a highly commercial background having worked in HR and coaching roles for several large organisations including Jaguar Cars and Scottish Power.

Clients frequently say that Sam leads them to feel ‘comfortably uncomfortable’ as she explores what they need to learn and unlearn to enable them to deliver improved personal performance and thrive.
