The Slate Nominations and Elections Committee is accepting applications from Chapter members to serve on the 2017 Board of Directors, Following is information on Board responsibilities and the nomination/election process. We invite you to submit your application using the link below. Thank you for your interest in serving the 1000+ members of ICF Metro DC.

Our Chapter's 11-member Board Directors serve for 2-year terms (with the opportunity to be nominated for additional terms). The incoming Board will serve from June 1, 2017-May 30, 2019. The Board meets monthly, both by telephone and in person. Telephone meetings last 2 hours. Quarterly in-person meetings are either half or full day. Dates and times are decided at the first Board meeting of the term.

The Board consists of the Executive Committee (Past President, President, President-Elect, Treasurer, and Secretary) and 6 directors. Board Directors may be recruited to serve in designated positions such as Communications, Member Engagement, Professional Development, etc. or as a Director at Large, depending on current needs.

We are a working Board. Directors are expected to lead projects, teams, initiatives, and functions, requiring a minimum of 10 hours per month. We also expect Board members to participate in professional development programs and other member events throughout the year. 

We seek service-oriented, energized, committed and effective leaders who want to participate in the friendship and fun that comes with joining the Board.

You are an ideal Board member applicant if you:

  • Are an ICF Metro DC Chapter member in good standing.
  • Are ready to work as part of the Chapter’s leadership team.
  • Have ideas for shaping the future direction of the Chapter.
  • Have previously volunteered in a Chapter committee or activity, and/or want to step up your level of involvement.
