2019 Board Nominations

We have begun the annual process of sustaining and re-energizing the leadership of the Board of Directors. Many of the current board members have expressed an interest in re-committing to the team.  Brooke Carpenter and Jim Sims will continue on the Presidential track during 2019-2021 term.  Gary Crane, Marlene Thomas, Loretta Cooper, Lorri Manasse, and Randy Benn also wish to continue to serve.  (These folks will be reconfirmed for an additional term during this process.)

We want to thank Saundra King, Charles Jewett and Laura Phelps for their significant contributions as they complete their terms that began in 2017. As the Past-President, I will also roll off the Board at the end of May, 2019.

To complete our 11-member board for the 2019-2021 term, we are seeking four (4) chapter members to step up and lead with the returning individuals.  Your talents and energy are needed in the areas of membership engagement, professional development, financial management, and special events such as the Capital Coaches Conference and International Coaching Week.

You can read all about this process in our by-laws, at ICFMetroDC.org under the About Us tab.  Eligibility requirements are the following:

  • A member in good standing in our chapter
  • Commit 10-15 hours per month to work with the Board and the organization
  • Participate in monthly 2-hour board meetings and in quarterly (or as determined by the President) retreats
  • Communicate effectively
  • Read, understand and participate in the governance, strategic planning and development of the chapter
  • Read and implement board member duties
  • Attend 80% of board meetings; take on an area of responsibility
  • Have coaching as a primary professional pursuit

If you are interested in talking with the Nominating Committee about these opportunities, please complete this form before February 5, 2019.  Discussions with all interested folks will be held through zoom meetings during the month of February.

We need you!  Please help us continue to grow and thrive as a community!

If you have questions, please send a note to [email protected].

Sincerely,

Kori Diehl, Past President and Chair of the Nominating Committee
